Problem Note 57551: A time-out occurs when the HTTP procedure does not transfer data segments
Starting with the third maintenance release of SAS® 9.4, PROC HTTP might time out, resulting in the following note appearing in a SAS log:
NOTE: The PROCEDURE HTTP used 0.50 CPU seconds and 20206K.
NOTE: 408 Request Time-out
The problem occurs because of the inability of the HTTP procedure to transfer complete segments of data.
It is also possible to receive the following error message:
ERROR: Request Failed and number of retries has been exceeded.
These issues were reported for SAS® IT Resource Management (via its reporting tools), but it can occur with any SAS product or solution that invokes this procedure.
